(Note: Neither Sam’s Club nor Ninja sponsored this post. These are my unsolicited and unpaid thoughts. Period.)
We’ve been drinking coffee from a pod machine for a number of years. It’s fast and easy, but conscience dictates a more environmentally-friendly approach, so we decided it was time to make the switch to brewed coffee once again. We headed to our go-to store, Sam’s Club, to check out the inventory.
While we were standing in the aisle comparing the different machines, we commenced on a we-must-have-this campaign right on the spot, compiling a mental list of all the reasons we “needed” the sweet Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker on the shelf before us. From a single cup to a large cup to a travel mug to a carafe, you make the perfect amount for the moment. A real draw was the built in frother, which makes whipping up lattes a breeze. And on top of that, there is even a feature for easily preparing iced coffee, my personal favorite in the summertime. Considering the number of cups of coffee/lattes that Flyboy was buying every week it didn’t take long to talk ourselves into this coffee maker. When we did the math, spending $129 on this baby is going to save us money – and fast.
We raced home, and like kids on Christmas morning, ripped our new coffee maker out of the box, studied the manual, and made our first latte. Here is the reason this machine costs less than a more expensive model: when making a latte, you nuke your milk in the microwave for 30-40 seconds and then froth it. The high-end models have an all-in-one heater and frothing wand. That’s it! We figured it was no big deal to heat the milk first, and it’s not. You heat it right in the cup, froth it, and then brew the coffee right on top. Voilà!
If you’ve been drinking coffee brewed through a pod (like we were), you have no idea what you are missing. No joke – this machine makes the best coffee ever. From a classic cuppa to lattes and iced coffee, we’ve loved every cup. The coffee and coffee drinks we’ve created are every bit as good as at the coffee shops we (too often) frequented, and per cup, are a lot cheaper.
Five stars to the Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker!
Love,
Gigi
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love [*and a good cup of coffee], that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. – Psalm 90:14 (NIV)
