For the years that I’ve blogged and have used FB to notify readers of a new post and manage subscriptions, I am sad to report that FB cancelled me. Altogether. My Seriously Girl page, the list of subscribers (over 400) – gone. Kaput. This was the final blow between FB and me, and I left, never to return.
Is this what the beginnings of persecution against Christians looks like? And what the beginning of the end of free speech looks like?
Looking back, I had blocked the whole mess out of my mind and, finally today, connecting the dots, it occurred to me that being cancelled played the biggest part in my sudden sabbatical. I had no way to communicate with subscribers, no way to notify readers of a new post. So discouraging.
Now, I’m not sure how to proceed. Thank you for subscribing on my website. You are all I have left. At the same time, the subscriber function on my website seems quirky and some people tell me they have never gotten a single notification. Sigh.
For now, I think that all I can do is write as I feel led, invite friends to subscribe on Seriously Girl, and hope that if something speaks to you, you will invite someone(s), too.
That’s sort of an old fashioned way to grow a group, but I’m not sure what else to do.
At the end of the day, I am reminded of the promise of God below. Thank you for walking with me as we follow Him.
Love,
Gigi
