My tribe includes my husband of 45 years, our 3 grown kids, two in-law kids, and 7 grandkids. I could talk all day about these amazing people, and being their wife/mom/Gigi is the biggest blessing of my life.
My faith life, like a seedling, began to grow when I was a teenager. At a weekend retreat, I really started to grasp what it meant to pledge my life to the God of the universe who took my punishment upon Himself: He who owed no debt paid the debt I could not pay. This quiet revelation on a starry hillside late one night was the beginning of a new life.
I met Flyboy on a blind date when he was a student pilot (see our love story). After six years in the Air Force, we sensed a call to ministry (God literally closed every other door), and following seminary, spent 30 years serving churches in three states. From the challenges of pastoring, to cancer, to the painful moments that relationships either grow from or crumble under, we’ve walked through it all and have come out the stronger for it.
The older I get, the more I desire to leave behind something that is meaningful and worthwhile. Flyboy builds legacy furniture to pass on and fashions beautiful work that will last generations. It is my hope that, through this blog, I can make a difference by building up other women with encouragement, love, and life lessons.
May God bless you and guide your steps as you live out your faith journey. I’m here for you, as is He.
“Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, til I declare Your power to the next generation, Your might to all who are to come.” –Psalm 71:18 (NIV)
